The lab equips students with strong practical programming knowledge in C, C++, and Java across multiple semesters according to curriculum standards.
Students learn network structures, packet tracer simulations, crimping techniques, and practical networking skills through hands-on experiments.
Provides real-world experience in assembling, installing, and troubleshooting PCs and laptops, helping students build strong hardware fundamentals.
The CHE Association Inauguration was held on 14 August 2025 in the CHE classroom and was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Dileep P.. Students actively participated in the programme and contributed to the development of the association website.
The Computer Service Centre BYTE BUZTERS was inaugurated by Dr. Chitra S. IAS, District Collector, Palakkad on 19 April 2023. The initiative aims to provide technical services and practical learning opportunities for students.
A Faculty Development Programme on Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) was conducted for aided and self-financing polytechnic college teachers across Kerala from 29 June 2021 to 03 July 2021.
Another Faculty Development Programme on Moodle LMS was conducted for polytechnic college teachers across Kerala from 21 June 2021 to 26 June 2021.
An interactive session was conducted with the alumni of the 2003 batch. Alumni members including Sreejith, Vivek, and Nithya shared their professional experiences with students. Faculty members and the Principal also participated in the session.

Ms. Sangeetha I (S3 CHE) was selected to attend the NSS Pre-Republic Day Training Camp held at Thiruvananthapuram in 2021, representing the institution through her active participation in National Service Scheme activities.
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Computer Hardware Engineering ing Department at Government Polytechnic College, Palakkad. This program has been come into effect in 1990. The Computer Hardware Engineering Department has been growing considerably during these last years due to the success of its diploma graduates in proving themselves as highly skilled and professional engineering technologists.
The sanctioned students strength is 60 per year. Our department offers diploma in engineering curriculum under the Directorate of Technical Education. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem solving skills and innovation of new technologies.

The department offers a three year diploma course that consists of core civil engineering subjects such a Structural Design and Engineering, Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Construction materials & Engineering and Building Planning and Drawing.
Apart from these regular subjects, students are also trained to operate Total Station and work with soft wares involving Computer Aided Drafting, Structural Analysis and Design, Estimation, Project Planning and Implementation and GIS. The Laboratories in the Department are well equipped to enable practical learning with better understanding and to ensure the optimal consolidation of their knowledge.
Since 1984, we have maintained a consistent academic track record of being placed amongst the first five colleges in the state. The department has played a vital role in moulding the students to excel in their carrier. The alumini of the institution have been employed in various Government Departments and other firms in Private sector. The entire diploma course is designed in a manner that it would groom the students to become efficient field supervisors who would strive to maintain the highest standards in civil construction. The faculty members are recruited by the State Public Service Commission and are competent to deliver a positive learning experience with their excellent academic credentials and industry expertise. The technical staffs are also proficient in their respective fields. The Department also offers consultancy service to various stakeholders including Government Departments and Private firm and have been able to generate a revenue of about Rs. 5 lakhs within past two years.
